Lead Your Team to Glory! Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11 to Feature Ryder Cup

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Electronic Arts Inc., (NASDAQ:ERTS) announced today that one of the most prestigious tournaments in golf, The Ryder Cup, will be featured in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® 11. In addition, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11 will support Sony’s new PlayStation 3 Motion Controller to give gamers an authentic interactive swing experience. The game will be available on June 8 on the Wii™, Xbox 360®, PlayStation®3 and iPhone™ platforms.

“The Ryder Cup has always been my favorite sporting event and the tournament is being played at The Celtic Manor Resort in Wales in 2010. Also, I’m hopeful to have an opportunity to represent the European team later in the year – it’s all very special.”

Gamers will select a team and square off to try and bring home The Ryder Cup for their squad in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11 on all console platforms. The Ryder Cup is one of the last great sporting events to be founded in prestige rather than prize money. Choose from the U.S. or European squad and participate in the various competition formats – foursomes where players hit alternate shots, fourballs and singles which traditionally bring the biennial event to a close with players going head to head. When playing The Ryder Cup mode offline, gamers will have the option to swap matches, thus giving you the ultimate control over the outcomes of other matches.

The Ryder Cup, a competition hosted by Ryder Cup Europe LLP and the PGA of America, brings together the best American and European golfers in a team competition format, and the cover of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11 is a direct reflection of the tournament – as Tiger Woods denotes the U.S. team and Rory McIlroy represents the Europeans. McIlroy, hailing from Northern Ireland and currently ranked 9th according to the Official World Golf Rankings, has posted several impressive showings early in his professional golfing career. Last year, McIlroy had five top 10 PGA TOUR finishes including a third-place tie in the 2009 PGA Championship and made the cut in all four majors. As an amateur, McIlroy also has a strong history in team play events, which include appearances in the Junior Ryder Cup and Walker Cup.

“This is a huge honor for me to be the on the cover with Tiger Woods as I grew up idolizing Tiger,” said McIlroy. “The Ryder Cup has always been my favorite sporting event and the tournament is being played at The Celtic Manor Resort in Wales in 2010. Also, I’m hopeful to have an opportunity to represent the European team later in the year – it’s all very special.”

Not only will players have the ability to participate in team play but they will now be able to take a team online* via the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A first for the franchise, this all-new mode will allow up to 24 players to compete head-to-head as members of team. Team members can also talk strategy with their teammates over Xbox LIVE or PlayStation Network.

Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11 on the Wii brings the links to your living room with two all-new enhanced swing mechanics while using the Wii MotionPlus™. The Advanced Plus swing difficulty will read rotation and swing angle while the Tour Pro swing mechanic assesses rotation, swing plane and point of contact. The Tour Pro swing features an innovative first-person camera angle from the tee box to the putting green called True View. True View creates the most immersive and authentic golf experience in any video game – you are no longer watching the golfer, you are the golfer!

Since 1986, EA has produced immersive golf experiences that give fans the ability to hit the links via an authentic gameplay experience. Since the launch of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 99 the franchise has sold more than 25 million units worldwide**. The critically acclaimed Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 on the Wii was a finalist for IGN.com’s 2009 Sports Game of the Year.

Accenture, Tiger Woods, and a Break-Up: Will Tiger Lose Even More Sponsors? What About Nike?

Accenture, Tiger Woods, and a break-up occurred over the Tiger Woods scandal. Accenture, a popular consulting firm was one of Tiger’s sponsors. Accenture’s service mark “Go on, Be a Tiger” will be no more in light of everything going on. Accenture’s announcement came shortly after Gillette announced that they were suspending the use of Tiger Woods in ad campaigns for an unspecified period of time. With sponsors seemingly dropping like flies, Tiger Woods scandal followers are wondering what endorsements the golfer will lose. Will he lose his largest endorser, Nike?

Nike says that they are standing by Tiger Woods. He’s been with Nike for such a long time and was an integral part of Nike’s golf line. Dropping Tiger now may be more detrimental to the company than beneficial. It should also be mentioned that Gillette hasn’t said that they are permanently severing ties with Tiger Woods, just suspending the use of Tiger in marketing campaigns for an unspecified amount of time. This could be because of Tiger’s request to have privacy and stay out of the public’s eye.

With Tiger taking an unspecified break from golf, sponsors may be pulling out because once Tiger is out of the public eye, using him in marketing may be useless. What is known, however, is that in less than a week Tiger’s sponsors have announced many major changes.

Gatorade is going to discontinue the “Tiger Focus” line of sports drinks, but maintains that the decision was made months ago and before the Tiger Scandal broke loose. Gillette, once again, hasn’t said they have dropped Tiger completely. Accenture, has.

Accenture is a different animal than Gillette, Nike, and Gatorade. Accenture is a consulting firm, and consulting firms sell services. A consultant needs to make sure that they have the trust of the public and the trust of their client. If the face of their company is someone that is in the middle of a gigantic scandal involving unethical practices such as cheating on his wife, etc – then it may hurt Accenture’s image to keep Tiger on board.

Now that Tiger has stepped away from the golf course, it is not unlikely that he will also lose endorsements. However, Nike will probably stick by Tiger Woods until his image is too far gone to repair. The public is very forgiving, and next year at this time the Tiger Woods scandal will be nothing more than just a memory. Accenture, however, made the best decision possible in light of the services that they render.

Tiger Woods Sponsors Ready to Drop Golfer?

Will Tiger Woods sponsors drop the golfer? Accenture was the first major sponsor to part ways with Tiger Woods? Will other sponsors drop Tiger Woods. Should other sponsors follow suit and drop Tiger Woods?

Examining what should happen with sponsors in relation to the Tiger Woods situation almost requires a psychiatrist. If you are a major sponsor and you’ve benefitted from Tiger Woods do you owe it to him to give him the benefit of the doubt? Is it worth dropping Tiger Woods if there’s a great chance he could resume his number one ranking at this point next season or even later this year?

Dropping Tiger Woods if you are sponsor certainly seems like the logical thing to do. Accenture certainly made that decision quite abruptly after weighing it’s options. Will the other sponsors drop Tiger Woods and follow suit? It’s a tough decision for any major sponsor considering the publicity Tiger Woods will get once he steps back out onto the golf course.

Can Nike say goodbye to Tiger Woods even though he has helped build their image? Who else would be that big of a global name that Nike could latch onto if they decide to part ways with Tiger Woods? There’s a huge dilemma for a sponsor like Nike with the Tiger Woods situation. Do you wait to see what public opinion is for Tiger Woods before making any decision? Are you reluctant to get rid of him on the chance that next year he’ll be back to form on the golf course and still drawing huge ratings to the game of golf. If you are Nike, could you tolerate Tiger Woods walking around with a Reebok outfit one year from today and regaining his position as the top golfer in the world?

Nike almost has to be in an understandable holding pattern before dropping Tiger Woods. How long can a company like Nike wait before it decides? The most logical answer for a major sponsor is to wait and see if sales actually drop due to the Tiger Woods scandal. Nike is so big it probably won’t be hurt in a huge way by the Tiger Woods scandal. Plus there might be a light at the end of the tunnel when Tiger makes his comeback to golf. Imagine the story of the great comeback and Tiger winning his first event back on tour. Tiger breaks down and apologizes for everything and admits he’s a changed man. If you’re Nike, you want every bit of your image and branding on Tiger Woods at that point. It’s a made for television movie comeback happening in real life.

Gatorade is also on the chopping block. Would a sponsor like Gatorade completely drop Tiger Woods? It’s one of those decisions that needs to be made with a lot of thought. Looking ahead to what could happen is almost more important than looking behind or at the current Tiger Woods situation. Will America forgive Tiger Woods collectively and should sponsors stick with the golfer on the basis that it’s promoting the athlete and not the person? These are all touchy questions Tiger Woods sponsors will have to be asking before they completely drop a guy that could bring in millions of dollars in revenue.

At the end of the day it’s all about money. Sponsors will have to make decisions based on anticipated public opinion and the ensuing backlash and what that particular sponsor still has to gain from a golfer who took an indefinite leave of absence.

Are Tiger Woods' Alleged Text Messages to Joslyn James Sexy or Just Freaky?

Tiger Woods’ alleged text messages to Joslyn James have been released on James’ website, according to The Huffington Post, and they’re super graphic. Joslyn James is a porn star and one of Tiger Woods’ alleged mistresses. Are sexually explicit text messages a sign of a healthy libido or a sign of a freak?

Golden showers is the topic of one of Tiger Woods’ alleged text messages to Joslyn James

More than a dozen mistresses have been linked to Tiger Woods since November of 2009. Woods has since come public with an apology, says he’s working things out with his wife and plans to play in the upcoming Masters golf tournament, after being absent for four months. Although Tiger would probably like his sordid sex scandal to go away, it hasn’t. Now one of his alleged mistresses, porn star Joslyn James, has released a series of graphic text messages. In one text message, Woods allegedly texts, “Ever had a golden shower done to you?” A golden shower occurs when an individual urinates on another individual. In another text messages, Tiger Woods’ allegedly texts that he wants to “put my c–k in your a– and then shove it down your throat” and “hold you down while I choke you.”

In Tiger Woods’ alleged text messages to Joslyn James he texts super dirty messages. So what?

A sex positive individual, one who celebrates sex, would not consider Tiger Woods’ alleged text messages to Joslyn James a big deal. What two consenting adults say to each other is what two consenting adults say to each other.

What you had, however, is a golf pro acting like he was a straight laced monogamous husband and father, when he actually was not. When someone like this allegedly sends graphic text messages that later reach the public, the exhibition becomes peculiar. If Tiger had never pretending to be Saint Tiger, his alleged text messages of a graphic nature may not have made the news.

With the exposure of Tiger Woods’ alleged text messages, along with the rest of the dirty laundry, what will Tiger do in the future?

The approach that Tiger has taken is to get back with his wife and return to golf. This approach will work if Tiger keeps his pants on. He want us to believe that he’ll get back to his wife and be the monogamous husband and father that he pretended to be before. Whether or not he can nail that image will depend on him.

Golf – Is it Really a Relaxing Sport?

Modern day golf is a sport where one hits a ball into a hole on a golf course. The number of strokes a player takes in until the ball goes into the hole. The score is based on how many strokes are made, and is better upon fewer strokes.

The origins of golf are not clear. The oldest surviving records of the game date back to 1456AD. These records state the game was played at Bruntsfield Links in Edinburgh, Scotland. However, there are hints of the game being played in ancient Egypt as well as in China. However, these games are in a sense ancestors of modern day golf. The most accepted theory on the origins of golf would be shepherds hitting stones into holes in the ground dug by rabbits and the sort.

In terms of environmental friendliness, golf is probably not the nicest. In some places, people protest the building of golf courses such as in areas where land is very limited. The maintenance of a golf course is also very demanding to the environment in terms of water usage and chemicals used to keep out weeds. However, the turf is very good at filtering water of its contaminants, a property used to help clean water.

Throughout the history of golf, Jack Nicklaus is considered to be the greatest golfer of all time. Having won eighteen majors minus the two U.S. Amateurs. Tiger Woods is the only golfer predicted to challenge Jack Nicklaus’s record. However, Tiger Woods has yet to achieve a Grand Slam, the feat of winning all four majors in that season.

Bobby Jones was the only person to ever perform that feat. Being a sport that anyone of any age can enjoy, golf has gained world wide recognition. Tiger Woods is known throughout the world because of this popular international sport as well others who made it to the top.

Tiger Woods, Hank Haney and “The Big Miss”

“The Big Miss” was the first thought that came to mind as Tiger Woods (-11) finished in a tie for third in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Classic, his first tournament of 2012. Woods was in tie for the lead after 54 holes with Robert Rock from England. Tied for, or in the outright lead after 54 holes, used to signal a Tiger Woods victory on Sunday. Rock (-13) was the more poised player in the final grouping and outplayed Woods and a hard-charging Rory McIlroy to win the tournament.

Since 1997, Tiger’s first tournament of the year has signaled the start of the golf season for me. Traditionally Woods has started his season in Torrey Pines. In 2007, I traveled to Torrey Pines to watch Woods play at The Buick Invitational (now known as The Farmers Insurance Open). I’ll never forget his commanding presence, his aura, the way the field withered, not to mention his shot-making ability. Of course, Tiger won the event and left me in awe of his talents on the golf course. That was then, this is now. Robert Rock, Rory McIlroy, pretty much the entire world of players on tour, now look forward to playing Woods and winning against him. What a difference in five years.

Hank Haney-Tiger’s swing coach from # has authored a new book entitled “The Big Miss: My Years Coaching Tiger Woods”‘ due to hit bookshelves and digital readers on March 27, 2012. Reportedly, the book is Haney’s first person account of his life with Tiger Woods. What a life on the golf course the relationship produced. Tiger won six majors with Haney as his swing coach. The famous 2008 U.S. Open one-legged win at Torrey Pines in a Monday playoff against Rocco Mediate, was and is my favorite. Once again-that was then, this is now.

I miss the days of Tiger, Stevie (Steve Williams) and Hank Haney. I miss the days of what it used to mean when Tiger had an outright or share of the lead after 54 holes. I miss the fist-pumps. I miss the entertaining Tiger commercials. I miss Tiger Woods being the #1 player in the world. What I miss most is the conversation about when Tiger would win his 18th and 19th major. The question now is- Will Tiger win an 18th and 19th major? Does Hank Haney “miss” those days too? Is that what “The Big Miss” is about?

Sure, Tiger Woods is only human. To his credit, he’s moved forward, and is giving it all he’s got. A tie for third with a strong field including the current world #1 is a very good way to start 2012. I’m looking forward to an exciting year for the world of golf. Yes, I’ll probably read Haney’s book. Hopefully the book will be insightful as opposed to salacious. Wouldn’t it be nice at the end of 2012, if Tiger’s performance renders “The Big Miss” as an insightful read as opposed to a post-mortem on one of the most fascinating sports careers of our time?

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006 for Playstation 2

EA Sports has made a name for itself as the preeminent sports video game maker. Whether you have a Playstation 2, an Xbox, or anything else under then sun, odds are that you’ll be able to play your favorite sport via one of EA’s titles. One of their best selling games has always been the Tiger Woods line. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006 for Playstation 2 brings a number of new features and is redesigned for better and more realistic game play.

Tiger Woods 2006 first offers an all new Rivals mode that allows you to pit yourself against some of the greatest golfers ever on you way to becoming the greatest golfer of all time. Play against legends like Jack Nickalus, Arnold Palmer, and pros from today like Vijay Singh. Beat them and increase your overall ranking until you become the undisputed #1 golfer ever. Tiger’ll challenge you here and there, and you won’t be able to become number one until you meet his expectations. A unique aspect of the rivals mode is that you won’t only play legends of golf, but you’ll travel back in time to play them during the peak of their careers, making it even more difficult for you. Each pro will challenge you to things like long drive challenges and putting contents. Beat them and increase your ability and ranking.

Something much different in Tiger Woods 2006 than earlier editions is the new shot mechanics. Previously you could swing and put with using only one analog stick. Now you can use the other to put spin on the ball, or you can change the point of impact for fades and draws, as well as high lofted shots or low stinging drives. Putting is completely different as well. Instead of offering you distances, i.e. Aim 6 inches left and 1 foot long, you have to fend for yourself by reading the green correctly. It takes a little getting used to but it makes the game that much more realistic and challenging.

Also new to the 2006 version is the ability to place wagers on your shots and rounds. Up the ante before a challenge or match by agreeing to harder conditions or by removing clubs and skills. If you win you end up with that much more cash to spend at the pro shop. You can also call your shot. Put some cash down and see if you can bank your shot of the tree and onto the green when you are playing heads up. It’s hard, but you’ll surely impress your competitors if you can pull it off. There are plenty of new courses and golfers to keep things interesting, including a few hidden gems and players that will surprise you.

As a reward for playing well and hitting good shots, the 2006 model has a new gamebreaker meter that increases with every well-played shot. Post a low score and it increases until you can use your built up meter for making fantastic shots in clutch situations. The better you get, the more likely you’ll be able to hole out from 250 yards for a double eagle.

Tiger Woods 2006 is available for play online if you have a compatible Playstation 2 system. Up to 4 players can play, and it is rated E for everyone. You can buy it almost anywhere for around $30. This is the best golf game out there, so if you know someone who likes video games and likes golf, then this is a great gift.

Tiger Woods 6 Women Plus 2 More Ready to Make Their Debut – Tiger Woods Affair List with Names

Tiger Woods has had 6 women come forward and enter their hat into the media ring, so far. There are reports that there are 3 more women, 1 being from the UK, who are in the process of securing their platforms for telling their Tiger Woods Affairs Story. Who would have ever guessed that the world’s number one golfer would be this slick?

Here is the list of Tiger Woods Women so far. They are listed in the order that they have appeared to the public. I am sure there are bets being taken in Vegas on how many will be on the “Tiger Woods Affairs” list before it is all said and done.

Tiger Woods Affair List – 6 Names – 2 More Possibilities And Growing Daily

# 1 is Rachel Uchitel (hostess in a night club) who started the parade.

2. Jaimee Grubbs (cocktail waitress)

3. Kalika Moquin (club manager)

4. Jaime Jungers (cocktail waitress)

5. Mindy Lawton (diner waitress)

6. Cori Rist (night club waitress)

7. Woman waiting for the best offer from media.

The 8th woman is from the UK and reports say that she is not looking to share her story. None of the above women were either, but things change quickly and everyone has a price. This is what we have learned so far in the “Tiger Woods Affair” saga.

Tiger Woods Negotiated With His Wife To Come To A Mutual Monetary Apology

Tiger Woods has negotiated his marriage terms with wife Elin, who will receive millions more than their original pre-nuptial agreement had stated. For each year Elin remains Tiger’s wife, it seems she gets more money.

This is a strange relationship at best. Most wives would be devastated, not to say that she is not, but she has pulled her self together long enough to get back in negotiations for her plot in life.

The reports that put both the mother and mother in law of Tiger Woods at his house the night of the fight and accident are also strange. I wonder if it was one of them that could be heard in the background of the 911 call from the neighbor. The neighbor called from the scene of the accident and in the background you could here a woman saying “what is going on here”?

• According to a report in a celebrity blog, Tiger Woods Mistress # 5, Mindy Lawton is a waitress in a diner that Elin and his wife frequent. The report says that as Elin read the paper at breakfast, Tiger would stare at Mindy. The report states that Tiger owns two homes in the area where he and his family live. Tiger would meet Mindy at one of those homes. Elin was never there when Mindy went to the home, so it may be the other house that they went too.

• Looking at the “Tiger Woods Mistress” list, it is safe to say he has a thing for ladies in the service industry. This may fulfill some kind of fantasy he has. It is also safe to say that there are going to be at least 5 and probably more new millionaires who were once wait staff.
